Cal Hawkins’ family gave the town of Hawkins Hollow its name and has thrived there ever since.  Cal is rooted in the town and along with his boyhood friends, Fox O’Dell and Gage Turner, form the male half of the group that comes together to fight the evi that descends upon Hawkins Hollow every seven years.

Cute Bowling Alley Guy – Cal has a long and lanky frame, with dark blond hair that goes where it chooses and eyes that are a sharp (and occasionally) stormy grey.  We love that he likes to wear flannel shirts and faded jeans with Timberlands.

It’s not difficult to understand the appeal of a man who has the face of a fallen angel.  With the silken black hair that curls over his collar (unless it’s tied back in a tail so he can concentrate on some e-work) and those electric blue eyes, Roarke may just be the the most perfect-looking of men.  And when you add in his hard, muscled body – well, we’re lost.

It’s not just his looks though.  P’raps the most wondrous thing about this man is that he really loves his woman and he’s not afraid to show it.  Now, that is something we can all appreciate…

Bizarrely enough, we seem to have already agreed on an actor. Ed Quinn was the frontrunner for a while, but then we stumbled across the glorious Shane Brolly. He is from Belfast so is probably more able to do an accent with a hint of Dublin than any of the other actors we have perused.  He also has done some pretty dodgy stuff in the past; perfect Roarke.

In the Fall of Shane Mackade, we focus on the beautiful Shane. He has thick, midnight black hair that he often wears in a stubby ponytail, a thin, bony, mouth-watering face (licking your lips yet?) with a lush mouth AND a dimple.  His green eyes are the shade of an ocean at twilight.  And that’s without even starting on his tall, rangy, muscled body.  Good lord, how’s a woman to breathe?

Now, the thing is, the casting game is as much about the essence as it is about the actual looks and, although he hasn’t the right colouring, we think Taylor Kitsch is the best choice for Shane – very pretty, looks like he could pitch a bale of hay and handle a tractor.  Just as importantly, looks like he could handle his woman.
